PREFACE TO SECOND EDITION
The increasing necessity for economical manufacture makes the design and use of efficient jigs and fixtures of greater importance than ever before. For this reason it has seemed best to enlarge this volume to include an even greater variety of work and to show also a few boring bars and reamers used in connection with them.
It is our hope that these additions will make the volume of still greater value to those who are responsible for the design of these aids to economical manufacture. And this seems a fitting place to emphasize the importance of this work and to suggest that the value of the jig and fixture designer has hardly been sufficiently appreciated in the past.
