D001066 - KAPA Kollector

$35.00 each

KAPA was begun and promoted as a kind of "club" of members who were interested in the preservation and exchange of wood model airplane kits and the history of the people and companies that created them.

Started by the late Jim Alaback and edited by Lou Buffardi, the first issue appeared in early 1993 and ran for a total of 80 issues, ending publication with the last issue dated December, 2012.

Articles included histories of model manufacturers and designers and plans that had been published. These articles were usually contributed by collectors or the designers and manufacturers themselves for a total of more than 900 plans and drawings plus over 300 historical articles.

A long time subscriber to the group, Lou Cumpston had a complete set of KAPA issues and asked that we digitize them for him so that he would have a convenient way to go through them without having to physically page though each issue. We did this and, with Cumpston's permission, are making available all 80 issues and the published comprehensive Index of Plans and Articles that was included with the final KAPA issue.

These digital copies and the index have been processed using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) which allows you to search for specific names or text, simplifying locating particular items of interest.

So, if you're a collector or searching for information about a particular plan, designer or manufacturer this collection provides a treasure trove of data not available anywere else.
